More musical marvels have been added to the line-up for the ultimate weekend away, Return to Rio, this November 13 – 15.
Sydney Social 101 had the absolute pleasure of attending as a guest last year and had the best weekend!
Think fancy dress, frivolity, friends and fucking awesome music! This is one not to be missed.
Dialing up the madness, magic and mayhem at Wiseman’s Ferry is legendary mover and shaker Simon Caldwellof Mad Racket fame, deep house and techno’s favourite couple Gabby & Shamus, Sydney DJ producer Cassette and party starters Start:Cue. The acts will be joining the international legends Soul Clap, Mr C, Davi, Atish, Hoj, Matthias Meyer, Phat Phil Cooper and Nicky Night Time already announced. Ensuring the fun doesn’t stop there Mantra Collective, Co-Op, Adi Toohey, Mark Craven and Shaun Bro are just a few of the additional turntable ninjas set to invade the two massive stages of music, dominating the hearts and minds of the Riopians over the two days and three nights of action.
Simon Caldwell comments:
“I’ve been lucky enough to play at each and every edition of Return to Rio and it is one of my favorites. The place is a tropical paradise where everyone is up for a good time and the adventures are wild and all-weekend-long.”
Return to Rio also welcomes their good friends Outrageous Entertainment, a playful collective promising a sensory overload of robotic and pyrotechnic experiences with lots of random acts of outrageousness to boggle the mind.
Back by popular demand is the Morning Gloryville crew, who famously brought a ‘Wheel of Spank’ game show to the Del Rio Riverside Resort in March. With more secret surprises than you can shake a stick at up theirsleeves, this mad-cap troupe will bring another dimension of fun and frivolity to this top-notch weekender. Keeping the laughs rolling will be comedy duo, Batman and Robin AKA Duncan Fellows and Goodwill from Permission to Shine. The pairwill be making an appearance, somewhere and at some point over the weekend, so keep an eye out for these extremely funny boys who will have you in stitches.
In addition to the music, unusual amusement and water sports on offer, ticketholders are required to add their own little something to the festivities with a Random Act of Kindness. These spontaneous, selfless acts are designed to put a smile on anyone’s face and encourage partygoers to do something spectacular, to delight their fellow camp mates.
Ricky Cooper, Return to Rio Promoter comments:
“Random Acts of Kindness is a great way to bring everyone together. We were overwhelmed by people’s generosity and with what they came up with at the last event. We are expecting more of the same shenanigans in November so here’s a few examples to get the creative juices flowing…”
- Provide your very own kissing booth
- Offer other partygoers home made ice-pops
- Jazz up someone’s outfit with a quirky fancy dress accessory
- Buy someone a drink who you don’t know yet
- Make your neighbours a bacon sandwich
