Papi Chulo, Merivale’s sizzling smokehouse and grill on the idyllic Manly Wharf, has launched a range of incredible winter feasts that will heat up the harbour over the cooler months.
Executive Chefs Christopher Hogarth and Patrick Friesen deliver their incredible ‘Winter Feast Menu’ – two courses and a glass of wine or beer for just $35 (available Mon-Wed). With influences ranging from Asia, Southern America and Canada, the duo has created an eclectic fusion of flavours in a unique dining experience not found elsewhere.
Guests can start their Winter Feast with signature crowd pleaser ‘pea guacamole with tortilla chips’, accompanied by a delicious ‘roast cauliflower, romesco, parmesan, brown butter crumbs’ to whet the appetite. The culinary fun continues with six tantalising mains – from ‘jumbo king prawns with lemongrass and coconut dressing’ or ‘Cone Bay barramundi with chilli, lime leaf, fish sauce, macadamia and herbs’ to ‘pulled kurobuta pork shoulder’ or ‘Rangers valley wagyu brisket’. With the finest pork, beef and lamb from across Australia, alongside the season’s best seafood prepared fresh every day, Papi Chulo is the ideal day to night destination to warm up with great food this winter.
Papi Chulo is also the perfect spot for families, with the addition of a fantastic new kids menu. Not only can the kids enjoy tasty dishes like the ‘quarter roast chicken with Papi’s gravy’ or ‘cheese quesadilla with sour cream and guacamole’, but will also help the suburb’s local penguins in the process. $1 from each dish will be donated to SEA LIFE Trust ANZ, a registered environmental organisation which works to protect Manly’s Little Penguin community.
On Tuesday 4 August, the harbourside restaurant will host an exciting Villa Maria Wine Maker Dinner. Patrick and Christopher team up with Villa Maria’s expert winemaker, Josh Hammond, to bring Manly a night not to be missed. Guests can enjoy a curated tasting of Villa Maria wines, matched perfectly to a six course banquet of signature Papi Chulo dishes specially chosen to bring out the best flavours from each glass. $90 per person (including a complimentary bottle of wine to take home).
