Sydney Social 101 had the pleasure of being invited to an advanced screening of Interstellar at the biggest IMAX in the world at Darling Harbour – It was absolutely breathtaking! At first the cinematography was quite polarising and made you feel quite seasick – but once I got used to it, the story just completely takes you in.
The performances are out of this world, Matthew McConaughey dazzles as Cooper, a family man set to save the world, knowing that he might never see them again.
Anne Hathaway is also commanding in her role, which takes a side step away from the content she has been known for in the past.
We don’t want to give away too much here, however if you’re a bit of a science geek like I am, love physics and the theory of relativity, then you won’t be disappointed. Nolan delivers a mind boggling, cinematography feat that leaves you with the lasting thought of how we came to be and what is out there.
There is also a little cameo from Matt Damon… but shhhhh don’t tell anyone…

INTERSTELLAR has launched into the number one spot at the Australian box office, taking $4.176 million on its opening weekend.
The film marks the biggest box office haul to date for Oscar winner Matthew McConaughey, solidifying the actor’s “McConaissance.”
Acclaimed filmmaker Christopher Nolan (“The Dark Knight” films, “Inception”) directs an international cast in INTERSTELLAR.
With our time on Earth coming to an end, a team of explorers undertakes the most important mission in human history: travelling beyond this galaxy to discover whether mankind has a future among the stars.
