Unless you’ve been living under a rock recently, you might have heard about a racehorse called Wynx ‘the worlds best horse’ that broke a few records on Saturday at Royal Randwick!
Host to the spectacle this weekend was The Championships’ twelve races, which are held on the first and second Saturday of April each year. Glittering emerald encrusted trophies, designed by acclaimed Sydney jeweller Cerrone were presented to the winning owner, trainer and jockey of each race.
With a total of $20.2 million prizemoney on offer, nail biting moments are aplenty. The very best horses in Australia competed against some of the finest international contestants, at what is a feature occasion in Sydney’s social and sporting calendar.
Sydney Social 101 was absolutely thrilled and privileged to be there to witness the storming steeple chase to remember.
She charged home with her 25th win in a row which catapulted her in the history books next to the legendary Black Caviar.
We’re been fans of Royal Randwick since we can remember. It’s a great day out for all the family and keeps the adrenaline pumping throughout.
This weekend was absolutely no exception as Sydney Social 101 was hosted in the members reserve for the ‘Championships – Doncaster Race Day’ as a guest of the ATC. Truly a sight to behold and an experience to last a lifestyle, whether you’re visiting Sydney, or moving here for the foreseeable, the races is a day out that certainly won’t disappoint. We even took home $500 winnings from the day that more than paid for our Ubers, drinks and snacks #result
The racing world held its gaze on Royal Randwick for The Championships, as the best-of-the-best vie for over $20 million prizemoney across two consecutive Saturdays.
Day 2 of The Championships is no exception, and is arguably the jewel on the racing calendar crown, as it waves good bye to the summer racing seasons and announces ‘see you soon’ just in time for the Spring Racing Carnival.
We were immersed into a day of live entertainment, award winning hospitality, thrilling thoroughbred racing and so much more.
Royal Randwick, one of Australia’s vibrant and most prestigious racing venues, is a fitting host. Visitors and racing enthusiasts from around the country and overseas witnessed world class racing, and enjoyed a dazzling array of fashion and award winning hospitality at this grand occasion.
Sydney, one of the world’s most beautiful cities will provide a breathtaking backdrop, a wealth of stunning sights, beaches to explore, arts and entertainments to attend, and gourmet dining experiences to enjoy.
