Sydney Social 101 was recently invited to review Esstudio to discover the latest volume lash trend offering, the 2D – 6D lash extensions.
The ultimate lash trend for enhancing the volume of your natural lashes, 2D-6D lash extensions ensure anyone can have enhanced volume like never before thanks to the multiple extensions applied to each eyelash.
Esstudio Galleria, the institution for all things beauty, has taken the bold lash trend to a new level this season introducing ‘Volume Lashes’ 2D-6D lash extensions.
We’d never heard of the salon before and were really keen to fund out more, so booked in for eyelash extensions and a blow dry – a nice pampering afternoon was on the cards!
When we arrived at the studio, we simply couldn’t believe our eyes! It was so cool with funky interiors and a really nice atmosphere – everyone was so friendly. The thing that stood out the most was the big round table in the middle of the salon!
Under the magic hands of Jacqui (Jax) Arnold, Head Beauty Therapist at Esstudio, the Volume Lashes were the first treatment on the cards, I was told that they are adhered to the natural lash with latex free glue in a relaxing treatment, which includes the bonus of pampering collagen pads under the eyes for extra care and soothing around the delicate eye area.
Already popular in multiple countries across the world, the newly introduced Volume Lashes consist of applying multiple lash extensions to each natural eyelash in a fanned shape. This can result in having 200 – 500 eyelash extensions applied to each eye, rather than the regular 80-100 extensions per eye with the classic 1:1 eyelash extensions.
When multiple volume lashes are applied, they create a full and natural feather-effect look. With the minimal 2D option, Jax will apply approximately 200 lashes per eye and 3D can go up to approximately 300 lashes per eye. As there are significantly more lashes per natural lash (between two and five, depending on the service), Volume Lashes will also last you longer than regular extensions.
After care is minimal and you can do all of your everyday activities as per normal besides avoiding moisture for 8 hours after treatment. Brushing is recommended twice a day, after your shower in the morning and before bed at night. Oil free makeup remover must be used to remove any makeup and no eye rubbing at all.
As you can see, they look incredible, and very natural!
Refills are required for long-term fabulous lashes for both the regular lash extensions and Volume Lashes.

Q: When did the salon open?
A: In the beginning we were struggling with council for 3 years for wanting something a little different and after 5 DA applications, Esstudio Galleria was born in December 2011!!
Q: Tell us more about your careers, and how you came to be where you are now!
A: We first met at the start of our careers over 15 years ago, working together in a salon on Oxford St Paddington. We went on our separate journeys, owning our own businesses and building a clientele.
About 5 years ago, our worlds collided and we began our journey searching for the perfect location to create one of Sydney most fabulous hair & beauty parlors.
We have almost 20 years experience in the industry between us and we specialise in the entertainment industry (film, music & TV).
We love what we do and aim to find likeminded, passionate artists to work with. We are all about having fun and enjoying the work we do!
Q: What was the reason for opening up your own salon?
A: After traveling the world and realizing the industry was so set in its ways, we wanted to create a flexible artistic space that would welcome our clients warmly. We wanted to create a space that was akin to welcoming them into our home.
Our clients sit around a large table… chat… sip on organic tea or drink wine and have their tresses tamed without having to stare at themselves in a mirror.
Q: If you were to describe your salon in 3 words, what would it be?
A: WOW – A three letter word we hear from new clients on a daily basis. But we believe our space is Creative. Inspiring. Worldly.
Q: If someone could only go in for one treatment, what would you recommend?
A: One treatment to experience is our Sweet AS package, consist of 135mins of pure bliss head to toe pamper pack.
Q: Where do you guys like to hang out when not working?
A: We love getting out & about in Sydney to all the new bars and restaurants, while we are in town. Our weekends are spent up in Central Coast relaxing and planning our next adventure.
Q: Fave bar in Chippendale?
A: Acradia liquors which is on Cope St, Redfern. Not only a great bar but we can also take our favorite furry friend with us!
Q: What’s next?
A: We have a number of exciting projects in the pipeline that we can’t wait to share! We’re in the process of releasing our very own beauty channel, which we are really excited about! Watch this space for more information.
