Belles Hot Chicken, the cult-favorite casual dining spot, has officially inaugurated its new beachside diner and bar located at 85 Hall Street, Bondi Beach. This latest establishment offers a fresh interpretation of Belles, merging elements of a fried chicken joint, a diner, and a 60s/70s beachside dive bar.

With a seating capacity of 85, including outdoor streetside dining on Hall Street and a dedicated takeaway window, the venue has undergone a transformative fit-out, stripping the former Fonda Mexican space back to its original 1960s essence.

Designed by Belles Design Director Vicki Punch in collaboration with Ana Calic, Josh McLean, Eleisha Gray, and Nick Cox, the interiors maintain the quintessential Belles aesthetic but with a Bondi-inspired upgrade. The venue boasts 4km of natural Australian timber adorning walls and ceilings, chrome accents, custom Tiffany-style lamps inspired by vintage Pizza Hut shades, 70s-style floor tiles, and unique artworks. Each piece of vintage furniture, predominantly featuring leathers, chrome, and corduroy, is meticulously handpicked to evoke that comfortably ‘lived-in’ ambiance synonymous with Belles.

The menu at this new Bondi locale features all the beloved Belles classics perfected over the brand’s nine-year history, including chicken sandwiches, wings, drumsticks, tenders, crinkle-cut fries, and buffalo cauliflower, all available in the signature Belles flavors: chicken salt, original, traveller, hot, and really hot.

To complement the savory delights, patrons can indulge in familiar Belles beverages like the Belles Original Draught, signature Boozy Slushies, and the renowned Pappy Van Winkle 15yo shot. The beverage menu is expanded for Bondi, featuring Belles’ twist on 80s and 90s-inspired cocktails, including the Belles Long Island Iced Tea, along with six new shots in their iconic ‘return if found’ shot glasses. Additionally, Belles is reviving the milkshake machine, with the Pina Colada shake taking the lead on the milkshake roster – available with or without alcohol for beachgoers.

To elevate the experience, the sound system has been given special attention, with a rotating lineup of DJs, courtesy of DJ agency 100% Phat. Saturday nights will groove to laid-back old-school, hip hop, and R&B, while Sunday afternoons will resonate with soul, funk, and disco beats.
