Eden is a new plant based restaurant serving delicious food, wine & cocktails. The inspiration behind the menu, design & overall experience has been led by local Bondi owners, Simon Hill & Tanya Smart, along with experienced plant based Chef Claudia Pantoja, each of whom are immensely passionate about the benefits of plant based food and building a destination for like minded people to come together and enjoy good times.
Sydney Social 101 recently got to pop in to the beach side eatery to try out the brand new lunch menu. We took our seats in the stunning, tree-filled outdoor garden oasis and ordered a round of cocktails while we perused the menu. I had the zesty and strong Bondi Sour: Old Tom’s Gin, grapefruit juice, lemon juice, aquafaba, rosemary and grapefruit garnish while me date had the super refreshing Garden Of Eden: Organic hippocampus vodka, Green Chartreuse, lemon, mint, cucumber and myrtle soda. Delicious!
We decided to go for share plates to try as many different dishes as possible. Highlights included the Fysh Tacos of corn tortillas filled with Battered fysh (plant-based fish that actually looks like real fish), rainbow slaw, baja sauce, jalapeno salsa, Pico de gallo, and fresh lime and the Sliders with mini plant-based patties, cheddar, mixed greens, tomato, special sauce and a pickled jalapeño served on a green slider bun. We also loved the Beetroot Carpaccio with golden beetroot, capsicum puree, pickled chilli and plant-based Persian feta and the incredibly tasty Sweet Potato Gnocchi with citrus cashew alfredo, sautéed kale and parmesan (plant-based of course!).
We finished off our meal with the super delicious Peanut Butter Cheesecake with cacao almond crumb, vanilla bean ice cream and spiced blackberries. Definitely a dessert not to be missed. Can’t wait to go back and have it again!
Eden Bondi is an absolutely delicious addition to the Bondi culinary scene. The meals are full of flavour, completely ethical and will leave you full and totally satisfied. A must visit for long lunches in the garden oasis or romantic dinners in their beautiful indoor dining area!
