Ben & Jerry’s Open Air Cinemas  – Bondi (21st Jan – 28th Feb)

Open 7 days a week and situated right by Bondi Pavilion, see all the latest blockbusters as well as some old-school favourites with sessions to suit all tastes and budgets only a stone’s throw from the ocean.

Sundae Sessions – You had me at free ice cream… Tickets are selling fast to the ever-popular Sundae Sessions, where movies, live music and complimentary Ben & Jerry’s ice cream come together for an incredible outdoor cinema experience right by the iconic Bondi Beach.  Sundae Sessions launch on 24th January with Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg’s hilarious new comedy Daddy’s Home, with soon to be announced live musical acts!

St. George Open Air Cinema – Fleet Steps, Mrs Macquarie Point (8th Jan – 19th Feb)

I feel like this image really says it all… If there is a more picturesque way to watch a movie in Sydney then I certainly haven’t seen it.  Situated against a backdrop of the Sydney Opera House, Harbour Bridge and city skyline, the St. George Open Air cinema offers a premium lifestyle experience and a night out that wont soon be forgotten.

Sunset Cinema – North Sydney (21st Jan – 19th Mar)

Living across the bridge certainly doesn’t mean you miss out on some sweet outdoor cinema action!  IMB Bank Sunset Cinema is the perfect urban escape and the ideal way to soak up the best of summer in North Sydney. The season starts from 21 January and runs through to 19 March, four nights per week.

Sunset Cinema sits on the hallowed turf of North Sydney Oval – home of the first outdoor cinema in Australia! Movies by the Boulevard – Sydney Olympic Park (2nd Jan – 17th Jan)

Sydney Olympic Park’s popular Movies by the Boulevard series will return for its fifteenth year of FREE cinema under the stars in January 2016.

Held at the iconic Cathy Freeman Park (opposite ANZ Stadium) on Olympic Boulevard at Sydney Olympic Park, the 2016 series of FREE Movies by the Boulevard will operate on Wednesday-Sunday evenings from 2-3, 6-10 and 13-17 January (inclusive).

With a program of family-friendly films spanning a variety of genres, FREE Movies by the Boulevard 2016 will include kids’ activities from 6pm on selected event nights, before movies commence on the big-screen from 8.30pm.

Unlike a lot of outdoor cinemas, you’re free to bring picnics, rugs and low-chairs to enjoy the experience to the max!

Cinema in the Square – World Square (6th Jan – 16th Mar)

World Square is set to bring back its free outdoor cinema in January 2016. Bask in Sydney’s summer nights and watch free movies beneath the stars in peaceful silence.

Headphones and deckchairs are provided and World Square’s food outlets present a diverse range of options for dinner and snacks.

A range of summer-inspired holiday film favourites are on offer including Jaws, The Holiday and Love Actually as well as cult classics from the 1980s and 90s such as Muriel’s Wedding, Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure and Romeo & Juliet.

Every Monday from 8pm this summer, your favourite cobblestone courtyard transforms into the ultimate outdoor cinema experience under the stars and plays host to all your favourite film classics.
