Gamification – Check, Cocktails – Check, 80’s nostalgia – Check! We feel it’s pretty safe to say that Curious Cartel’s ‘The Lock In’ is the event we’ve been waiting for!

Let loose in Surry Hills in November this year, Sydney’s very own portal to the ‘80s, will literally turn guest’s world upside down.

This will be the first of a series of pop-up bar experiences from events company Curious Cartel, the team who brought you Popcorn Therapy immersive cinema nights – Carrie and Fight Club. Sydney Social 101 was a guest on the immersive cinema night: Carrie and it sure didn’t; disappoint, so we’re expecting BIG things!

Located above Sydney Social 101 favourite; The Wanderer on Elizabeth Street from November 3rd and for a limited time only, guests can continue their evening in the bar below.

What to expect…

Entering ‘The Lock In’ is your one-way ticket to small town Indiana, 1988. Weird things have been going on at a top-secret government facility and locals have been disappearing with no explanation. Guests will investigate the phenomena, do their damndest to solve the mystery and save the day.

Played out to a wild soundtrack of the coolest ‘80s tunes, The Lock In takes the experiential bar and immersive theatre experience and cranks it up to eleven.

There will be music, food, cocktails, a supporting cast of characters, interactive activities and unique tailor-made games, all in a prime location.

Date: Starts Saturday 3rd November
Time: Various time slots. Thursdays – Sundays
Venue: The Wanderer, Surry Hills
