After 50 years of delighting diners in Marrickville’s Little Athens, The Yeeros Shop has made its grand entrance in Annandale, Sydney. This new chapter for the iconic Greek eatery is already winning over locals and food enthusiasts with its authentic and soul-satisfying cuisine.

Stepping into The Yeeros Shop Annandale is like being whisked away to a cozy taverna on the Greek Islands. The warm, earthy tones and cobblestone-patterned flooring blend traditional Greek aesthetics with modern touches, creating a charming and inviting atmosphere.

But The Yeeros Shop is more than its beautiful interiors – it’s a symbol of community and family. Founded by Yiannis Benetos in 1968 and now owned by Kostas Tomaras and Poppy Papadopoulos since 2012, the shop has nurtured strong, loyal relationships with its customers over the decades. Kostas, who managed nine Yeeros Shops in Greece, found a second home at The Yeeros Shop in Marrickville after moving to Australia in 2010 with his family. Together, Kostas and Poppy have revamped their Marrickville location and expanded their culinary journey to Annandale.

Open seven days a week, The Yeeros Shop continues to serve fan-favorites, including their signature lamb yeeros packed with juicy lamb, fresh vegetables, tangy tzatziki, and a dash of paprika ($15). Their lamb, pork, chicken, or falafel plates, served with chips, Greek salad, and pita, start at $18 and are perfect for a hearty meal. Don’t miss their famously large hand-cut chips topped generously with chicken salt ($10).

The Annandale location also introduces exciting new offerings like the traditional Skepasti ($22) and the Bread Roll Style Yeeros ($13).

Our favorites were the delicisou falafel plate with a side of haloumi, the juicy lamb yeeros and the chips with chicken salt for the kids. For dessert we loved the rice pudding and the blueberry cheesecake.

The Yeeros Shop is a must-visit; incredible and fresh food, warm friendly service and a great atmosphere!
