World class Champagne, fine French canapés and delicious company. Sydney Social 101 was treated to all three last week, at the celebrity launch of the new Laurent-Perrier menu at Vine Double Bay.
Stars spotted sipping flutes of Laurent-Perrier Brut included Erin Holland, Nikki Phillips and husband Dane Rumble, Lauren Vickers, Kara Wilson and model Madeline Huett. We also got the chance to congratulate fellow Pommies and ‘My Kitchen Rules’ champs Will and Steve, who were both extremely charming and looking dapper after their recent win.
Founded in 1812, Laurent-Perrier is one of the finest Champagne houses in the world. Steeped in tradition and history, the new menu was perfectly matched with a selection of canapés created by Vine’s Executive Chef Drew Bolton; we enjoyed Pacific Oysters, Beef Tartare and heavenly Truffled Gruyere cheese gougere.
Chatting with Chef Bolton, he talked us through his newly curated menu, drawing influences from across the world but notably French cuisine. His experience includes Matt Moran’s Aria Restaurant and Peter Gilmore’s iconic Quay, along with time in 3 star Michelin establishments overseas such as Le Bernardin in New York and The French Laundry in California’s Napa Valley.
