It can be argued that Thailand is not on the typical ‘hot spot’ in 2023. It’s always been a favourite of mine, so I jumped at the chance to check out the incredible Santiburi resort in Koh Samui on a trip around Thailand.
From the moment we landed at the airport, we were treated like absolute royalty. The hotel arrange a pick up from the airport in a luxury comfy WIP mini bus – complete with air con, water and fresh wet towel – heaven! Transfer to the resort was approx 20 mins from the airport.
Upon arrival at the stunning Santiburi resort, my partner and I were greeted by Pimpa, who served us with another (very welcome) cold wet towel that smelled of refreshing mint, which gave us the pep we needed after the flight from Bangkok. As we checked in, we were presented with a fresh delicious watermelon drink in ‘The Lounge’.
Pimpa led us to our beautiful private pool villa suite which would be home for the next five nights. It’s safe to say that we couldn’t believe how incredible it was. From the fresh smell of the towels each day, the space and design of the room, coupled with the bed made up fresh every day, we didn’t want for anything. The room was so spacious and flowing open plan living felt so inviting. It was so clean and the comfortable beds and pillows were the icing on the cake – it felt like a home from home, it was palatial.
The Grand Reserve Pool Villa comes complete with coffee machine (gotta get that caffeine fix, even when on holidays!) mini bar, iron, wash service, high quality shampoo, conditioner and body wash is provided as standard.
We even had our own private pool (yes you read that correctly) attached to sliding doors of bedroom villa – complete with floating lilo to lie – just amazing!
There is also a huge pool for children and adults, which is so inviting and heated!
Pimpa was on hand to provide any information we required, including the four (yes four!) restaurant options we had to choose from. We truly were spoiled for choice and had access to all of them each day.
The food, glorious food… Where do I begin? I can safely say it was the best food I’ve ever tasted in my life! Each dish was SO full of flavours, freshly made before your eyes, well presented and plentiful:
  • SalaThai – Thai famous dishes – Thailand’s famous Panang Curry
  • The Pool House – Cocktails happy hour 5-6pm every day buy one get 1 free, great food choice available.
  • The Beach House – Favourite restaurant, plenty to choose from, absolutely delicious. Camembert, Steak, Cocktails
  • Vimarnmek – Breakfast varied international choice – fresh smoothies, lots to choose from, calm, clean, relaxing, well presented. My favourite was the bone broth fresh made soup and freshly made banana and nutella pancakes.

The Len Spa was another addition to the trip which just elevated our experience beyond all expectations. We had the Couples Thai Silk Aroma Massage –  The experience was so immersive! The intoxicating smell, relaxing vibe, and beautiful setting, not to mention I felt amazing after.
If relaxing by the pool, including in spa treatments and eating your body weight in food isn’t enough, ha! There’s also an array of water sports on offer for free including: Paddle Boards, Sailing lessons! There’s also tennis courts and and a gym.
Nothing was too much for the incredible staff! Event the maintenance staff on site couldn’t do enough to make our stay special. They  were friendly and on the ball. Keeping areas well maintained and clean and safe. Always there to help.
All in all we couldn’t recommend the Santiburi Koh Samui resort more highly! It was out of this world and we can’t wait to go back!
