So it’s the biggest night of the year for party animals and the we all know the consequences of getting it wrong- a lot of anticipation leading to the disappointment of poor views, huge queues, heavy-handed crowds, substandard food and ridiculous drink prices. NYE parties are not a cheap option in Sydney but a lot of them still have tickets available so here’s our summary of the options to help you choose wisely where to blow out the last night of 2015!
NYE PARTY AT THE HOUSE (Circular Quay)
The Sydney Opera House plays host again this year to NYE Party at the House, (not to be confused with the 2 other parties at the Opera House) featuring headline dynamic duo L’Tric (aka Ivan Gough and Andy Jaimes) who have combined their dancefloor powers to bring you old school house cuts all night long. Supporting L’Tric, DJ Dan Rowntree will be there to keep you entertained with his smooth & deep nu-disco sounds.
In my humble opinion, this is one of the best places to be on NYE in Sydney and is where you will find me dancing my socks off this December 31st. No, it’s seriously not cheap, but when you consider what the price includes, the value soon becomes clear. NYE Party at the House is right on Sydney Harbour on the western boardwalk of the Sydney Opera House upper concourse – the epicentre of the New Year’s Eve action, with Sydney’s best views of the harbour and the fabulous fireworks.
In addition, it’s a real bonus that Matt Moran and the ARIA Catering team will be delivering an incredible canapé menu served in abundance throughout the evening but the piece de resitance for me is that drinks are included all night. Beers, along with premium wines, delicious signature cocktails and, wait for it, French Champagne (Piper Heidsieck) are all included in plentiful supply!! Quite frankly, I can easily drink the ticket price in Piper Heidsieck in 7 hours!
