deli wine bar surry hills

Surry Hill’s hottest new laneway bar has recently opened its doors, ready for the crowd of wine and cheese-loving Sydneysiders who are completely ready for this different haunt.

Located in the Sophia street laneway, a convenient short walk from Central station, you’ll be forgiven if you think you’re wandering through a Melbourne or European alley.

Walking through the big doors and down the rigged steps, you immediately have the sense of a very cool, underground bar. But then the 90s tunes that owner and chef Darrel Felstead loves catch your ears and you realise the joint isn’t trying to take itself too seriously.

The dining theme is purposely simple, with a choice of amazing cheeses, charcuterie by weight, oysters with the perfect accompanying vinaigrette, and bread so good you’ll forget that carbs even exist.

The wine, I hear you ask. Well, you can order it by half glass, glass, carafe and full bottle. How convenient.

Perfect for friendly catch-ups and romantic dates, Deli Wine Bar is definitely one to check out.

Deli Wine Bar is located in Sophia St, Surry Hills (look for the sign). Opening Hours: Tuesday – Saturday, 5pm to midnight. www.deliwinebar.com.au
