Located in the vibrant Potts Point area, The Butler is a winning choice for a sophisticated and stylish, yet reasonably priced dining experience. Combining French Caribbean cuisine with a sharing, almost tapas like approach to service, The Butler is the perfect spot to enjoy a selection of sharing plates with family, friends or loved ones, whilst appreciating the stunning views of Sydney CBD, all from the comfort of a heated and sheltered patio area.

Greeted by friendly and attentive staff, first port of call for most diners will be the extensive drinks menu. The excellent selection of cocktails will make it difficult to narrow your choice, but the informed waiting staff make the decision all the easier by helping you select a drink based on personal taste preference.

When you’ve finally settled on the perfect drink, next up is the menu. The menu offers a wide selection of sharing plates; 3-4 plates will be enough for two people. Gluten free and vegetarian options are well catered under the menu, and staff provide recommendations of sugested dishes, again based on your personal preference.

The scallops with corn and Spanish sausage is an explosion of salty meat, creamy corn sauce and soft and delicate scallops which is a real highlight of the menu. For meat lovers, the braised lamb shank with Harissa risotto provides a hearty punch of meaty flavour, whilst the braised chicken croquettes combine texture and taste with a crisp mustard parsley salad.

The large selection of veggie options allows vegetarians to face a similarly difficult decision when choosing plates. The fried cauliflower with braised red onion, mint and pistachio is another menu highlight, and for more substance the green beans with lentils and feta is a hearty sharing plate. The jerk tofu with a sharp yet fruity mango chilli salsa may be good enough to convert even the biggest of carnivores!

If craving a sugary fix after mains, the waiting staff will provide the desert selection for that day. And, of course, there are many more delicious cocktails to sample whilst sitting back and enjoying the atmosphere.

The style of service at the Butler means that plates arrive as and when ready, and so be prepared to eat certain sharing dishes on their own, as opposed to enjoying all dishes at once. Nonetheless, the incredible view, and relaxed and stylish ambience of the restaurant, will mean that you will enjoy every minute spent there and will be in no rush for plates to arrive!
