Direct from its international premiere at Germany’s renowned Festspiele Ludwigshafen, Sydney Dance Company and Carriageworks’ New Breed program is set to open in Sydney for a limited season of eight performances.
New Breed is a diverse four-part program showcases the best of Australia’s fresh young choreographic talent – a selection of artists, handpicked by Sydney Dance Company Artistic Director, Rafael Bonachela, and Carriageworks’ Associate Director, Programming, Lisa Ffrench.
Six months ago each was commissioned to create a new dance work, given access to the Sydney Dance Company studios and a once in a lifetime opportunity to work with the cream of the country’s dancers from the Sydney Dance Company ensemble.

Last week their finished pieces premiered on the world stage, in front of a rapturous audience of 700 people, at the Concert Hall of Germany’s renowned Theatre im Pfalzbau.
Sydney Dance Company is a truly world-class troupe and you won’t fail to be taken with their performances – we absolutely loved their last show, Triptych. So join them for this strictly limited Sydney season, and be first to see what the next generation of Australian choreographic artists has to share – Bernhard Knauer, Derived; Daniel Riley, Reign; Fiona Jopp, so much, doesn’t matter; Kristina Chan, Conform.
