Sydney Social 101 was invited to attend a secret dinner at Secret Garden Festival this year as guests of The Corner House, Already huge fans of the festival, we jumped at the chance!

The Corner House opened its doors in February 2010. Its unique space is as suited to a relaxed meal with mates as it is a pre-dinner cocktail or two. The ground floor features a living and dining room serving up a rustic Italian menu including slow-cooked roasts, seasonal specials and classic wood fire pizzas.

About – Secret Garden Festival

Secret Garden was founded for two reason: to create the best, most unique weekend festival around and to raise money for charity.

Last year they raised over $100,000 for a range of charities including Oxfam, Sarah Hilt Foundation and Girls and Boys Brigade. This year, they are once again donating all proceeds from ticket and bar sales to a range of charities.

The Corner House Banquet

The Corner House hosted a series of banquets at the Secret Garden Festival over the weekend and we were lucky enough to get to experience it. The Secret Garden banquet was so secret we struggled to find it, but once we found the meeting point we were greeted by the lovely Nathan who was dressed as a penguin holding a pink umbrella. We were taken to the secret location where we walked through a woodland area and hidden away was a beautiful marquee set up for our banquet.

As we arrived at the secret location we were greeted with a zingy cocktail served in a pineapple cup, which everyone loved.

The food was delicious and with a twist on the side of greens and the best Tiramisu I’ve ever tasted, I’m not surprised people had second helpings (which I was very impressed considering they did not hold back on portion sizes!). With the staff attending every need from extra portions to filling up your cup it was the perfect event for a birthday, hen do or even as an excuse to treat yourself!

“It really felt like you were tucked away in a secret banquet even though the fun of the festival was only a few minutes away! The atmosphere was excitable with everyone looking forward to the food and drinks which did not disappoint! To wrap it up we met heaps of like-minded people and finished the meal up with a drinking game!” Says Lucy.

The ticket price was $45 which included a two courses and drinks. If you want the full Secret Garden Festival experience the Corner House Banquet is the place to go. If you can’t wait till next year’s Secret Garden Festival head down to The Corner House in Bondi and enjoy their famous Tiramisu recipe.
