Last night, celebrities and musical fans united under the vibrant tones of musical duo, Jess and Matt at an exclusive gig held at Madame Tussauds Sydney in celebration of the Lunar New Year.

Guests to the intimate event were treated to a set of live performances by the couple, a few including ‘New Rules’, ‘Oasis’, ‘Someone Like You’, and a English/Mandarin mash-up of their popular hit, ‘Sydney To Me’. Last night’s gig was the first time they perform the Mandarin variation of their song in Australia.

Guests in attendance included singer Cyrus Villanueva, and Australian singer-song writing duo InStereo (Jakob Delgado and Chris Lanzon). @TheCuratedGentleman (Vinh Huynh) and @bamitsjoanne (Joanne Phua) were also in attendance amongst other notable figures (wax and non-wax alike!)

“We are still buzzing after our gig at Madame Tussauds Sydney. It was such an honour to spend this festive night with some of our dearest fans – with some traveling from as far as Western Australia and Canberra just to be here with us,” says Jess Dunbar.

“Jess and Matt have been a pleasure to work with and are highly favourable amongst our Asian guests from both domestic and international markets – as evident in the turnout last night. Their bilingual performance of Sydney To Me was definitely a highlight of the evening,” says Mark Connolly, General Manager of Madame Tussauds Sydney.

Taiwanese singer and actor, Nicky Wu, also made a guest appearance on the night whose wax figure couldn’t bear to miss the event.

Jess and Matt first rose to fame after making the top three of X Factor 2015 where they were mentored by Guy Sebastian, and appeared alongside friend and season winner, Cyrus Villanueva. The couple have gone on to be signed by Sony Music, as well as recently becoming ambassadors for Destination NSW and traveling to China in  2016 to release their song ‘Sydney To Me’ in Mandarin – making them the first Australians to ever release a song in Asia in Mandarin.
