SHUK Bondi, the hidden gem of a neighbourhood cafe, has announced the return of its popular Vegan Night. Every Wednesday evening in March SHUK will turn into a vegan Mecca between 6pm and 10pm.

SHUK has established itself as a go-to eatery for its delicious range of Mediterranean and Israeli-style food (the Shakshuka is a brunch must-try) and has now turned its attention to the delights and challenges of vegan cuisine. The March Wednesday night special is a 7-course vegan degustation menu inspired by the flavours of the Middle East the cafe specialises in. But meat-eaters need not worry; vegan chef Raz Markus Symonds has worked together with SHUK’s head chef, German Sanchez, to create a feast to satisfy both vegan and non-vegans alike.

“Our vision was to try and create vegan dishes that can stand on their own without trying to imitate meat dishes,” said Symonds. “We are overwhelmed by the feedback we’ve gotten this far”.

The chefs of SHUK have created a culinary journey that will take you to all corners of the Middle East with everything from classic Israeli mezze to King Oyster ‘Scallop’ and a dessert tasting board from every vegan’s dreams!

If you’re vegan, you can’t afford to miss this imaginative take on vegan cuisine and if you’re not, why not take a chance on something new and different? The 7-course degustation menu is $50pp and spots are booking up fast.
