Sydney Social 101 were invited to try a wide range of cuisines on offer at Harbourside shopping centre and I was lucky enough to experience Zaaffran. Zaaffran is one of Sydney’s best Indian restaurants, serving up well presented, authentic Indian food. Full of Indian spices; the menu reflects Indian regional cuisine in all is diversity and vibrancy. Chef Vikrant Kapoor conjures up innovative meals and elevates the standard of Indian cuisine to a fine dining level. Zaaffran was recently award two hats in the 2015 Gault & Millau Australia Guide.

Upon arrival we were greeted by the lovely staff and taken to our table. Zaaffran had organised a feast for us where we were able to try a range of the dishes that are on offer. Here’s what we were lucky enough to try:

Spicy Prawn Spoons

Zaaffran sampler – uses Australian ingredient to create this beautiful dish:

Chilli-garlic yogurt glazed Salmon, coriander-mint smoked king prawns, Crusted Barra and grain-mustard and curry leaf grilled chicken tenderloin

Mains are traditionally seafood or vegetarian in India so Zaaffran created these dishes for the Australian meat eaters.

It was an amazing night and the food was delicious; I highly recommend it if you’re looking for somewhere with city views and great food.
